L’assurance peut être ajoutée lors de l’achat de votre vélo UTO sur notre site. Après votre commande, vous recevrez un e-mail vous permettant de finaliser le paiement et d’activer votre assurance auprès de Laka.

When the option is available for your bike, you can add Laka insurance directly when purchasing your bike on the UTO website.

After placing your bike order, you will receive an email allowing you to complete payment and activate your insurance with Laka.

The insurance policy is offered separately by Laka and can be tailored to your bike and the level of cover selected.

Yes. If you did not take out Laka insurance when purchasing your UTO bike, you can also request a quote after your purchase.

Simply visit the dedicated UTO x Laka page, provide the information about your bike and the cover you need, and follow Laka’s steps to receive a quote and take out insurance.

The insurance is provided and managed by Laka. UTO gives you access to this insurance when purchasing your bike, but your insurance policy is taken out directly with Laka.

Policy management, payments and any claims are therefore handled directly by Laka.

Depending on the insurance plan you choose, Laka can cover your UTO bike against theft and accidental damage.

Theft cover applies in particular at home and while you are out and about, provided that you comply with the conditions set out in your policy, including the requirements regarding the use of an appropriate bike lock.

Laka’s Classic plan also covers accidental damage to your bike and insured accessories.

Laka’s Classic plan covers accidental damage to the bike and insured accessories. This may include certain damage caused by a fall, accident or other incident while using the bike, subject to the terms of your policy.

Yes. Laka’s bicycle insurance plans include theft cover, including when your bike is being used or parked away from your home, subject to the terms of your policy.

When your bike is left unattended outside your home, its frame must in particular be secured to an immovable object using a lock that meets Laka’s requirements.

The battery integrated into your electric bike forms part of the insured bike. Its value should therefore be included in the declared new replacement value of your bike.

Laka also states that it does not apply depreciation to the battery as part of its bicycle insurance cover, subject to the terms of the policy.

Yes. Laka distinguishes between the bike itself and its accessories.

Components integrated into the bike, such as the wheels, drivetrain, saddle or e-bike battery, form part of the insured value of the bike. Other items associated with its use, such as a helmet, GPS device, lights, bag or bike lock, can be declared separately as accessories with Laka.

To benefit from theft cover when your bike is left unattended, Laka requires the bike frame to be secured to an immovable object using an approved lock.

Certifications currently accepted by Laka include:

• FUB 2 roues or higher
• ART category 2 or higher
• Sold Secure Silver or higher

We recommend checking that your lock meets the requirements specified in your policy documents before using it.

Laka offers bicycle insurance with no excess. This means that, for a claim covered by your policy, no standard excess amount is deducted from your settlement.

Laka states that it does not apply age-related depreciation to the bike as part of its bicycle insurance.

However, it is important that the value you declare reflects the cost of replacing your bike and its components with new equivalents. If your bike is underinsured, the amount paid for a claim may be reduced proportionally.

Yes. Laka insures different types of bicycles, including electric bikes, urban bikes and cargo bikes. UTO folding and compact electric bikes can therefore be insured, subject to the eligibility requirements of the selected policy.

Yes. Electric cargo bikes are among the types of bicycles that can be insured by Laka. A UTO OG200 can therefore benefit from suitable cover, subject to the conditions and plan selected when taking out the insurance.
